As an Environmental Project Planner with TxDOT, you will balance the needs of the growing region with the duty to protect our communities and local resources. This office-based position also offers opportunities for occasional field work and collaboration with the community through public meetings. An ENV Project Planner works closely with engineers to develop transportation projects and to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

TxDOT's Houston District - Advanced Project Development (APD) Section is seeking an environmental professional based in Houston, Texas. This individual will oversee the environmental analysis process for transportation projects in the Houston area including Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Montgomery and Waller counties. The environmental analysis would be in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other state and national rules/regulations. Candidates with professional or educational experience with NEPA are preferred. This position coordinates heavily with inner agency staff as well as consultants and stakeholder partners. This position demands excellent communication, organizational, and scheduling skills. The position is office-based, with requirements for occasional field work. This position requires knowledge of computers and computer programs.
