.NET Developer
Summary
MUFG Pension & Market Services is hiring a .NET Developer in India to design, build, test, and maintain enterprise applications using C#, .NET 6/7/8, ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs, and SQL Server/Oracle, with React on the front end. The role involves Agile delivery, unit testing, Git-based workflows, and gradual modernisation of legacy .NET applications.
- Contribute to the delivery of modern, secure, scalable, and maintainable applications using C#, .NET 6/7/8 or later, ASP.NET Core, Web API, REST APIs, Entity Framework or similar ORM/data-access patterns, and relational databases.
- Apply sound engineering practices including clean coding, SOLID principles, unit testing, code reviews, source control discipline, and effective technical documentation.
- Support continuous improvement by adopting relevant tools, automation, cloud services, secure development practices, and AI-assisted engineering responsibly where appropriate.
- Analyse business and technical requirements, clarify assumptions, and contribute to solution design with guidance from technical leads and architects.
- Design, build, enhance, and maintain application components across back-end services, APIs, database objects, integrations, and front-end features using React or similar modern UI frameworks where applicable.
- Write clean, efficient, reusable, and testable code using modern C#, ASP.NET Core, RESTful API patterns, asynchronous programming, LINQ, dependency injection, and SQL Server or Oracle.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs, implement validation, authentication/authorisation checks, structured logging, exception handling, and robust error handling to support integration with internal and external systems.
- Work with SQL Server or Oracle to write and optimise queries, understand joins, indexes, stored procedures, execution behaviour, and troubleshoot performance or data-related issues.
- Contribute to UI development using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, including API integration, component-level changes, validation, and basic usability improvements.
- Prepare and maintain unit tests, support test automation where applicable, and work with testers to resolve defects through triage, root-cause analysis, and technical fixes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support maintenance and enhancement of existing legacy .NET applications where required, while contributing to gradual modernisation using current .NET, API, cloud, and UI development practices.
- Use Git-based source control, branching, pull requests, code review feedback, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes in line with team standards.
- Work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, testers, architects, delivery managers, and support teams to deliver quality software outcomes.
- Communicate progress, risks, blockers, and technical considerations clearly and in a timely manner.
- Share knowledge with team members, contribute to documentation, and support a positive engineering culture focused on learning and continuous improvement.
- Follow secure coding, data protection, accessibility, audit, and information security requirements relevant to enterprise financial technology applications.
- Support production stability by creating maintainable solutions, documenting changes, participating in defect analysis, and assisting with release and post-release support activities when required.
- Minimum Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering / MSc / BSc – IT / Computer Science / Any Graduate with relevant software development experience.
- 2–5 years of hands-on software development experience using modern C#, .NET 6/7/8 or later, ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, RESTful services, and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Strong understanding of full SDLC, Agile delivery practices, requirements analysis, estimation, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Strong SQL capability using SQL Server or Oracle, including writing complex queries, joins, stored procedures, indexes, performance-aware database access, query optimisation, and troubleshooting data-related issues.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and integrating applications with internal or external systems.
- Strong understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, clean code practices, dependency injection, asynchronous programming, exception handling, logging, security awareness, and performance considerations.
- Experience with unit testing, mocking frameworks, debugging, defect triage, and root-cause analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Git, pull requests, branching strategies, and collaborative code review practices.
- Working knowledge of Azure services, CI/CD pipelines, application monitoring, and cloud-based deployment practices is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot application issues across code, APIs, databases, logs, deployments, and environments, with a practical approach to root-cause analysis and long-term fixes.
- Expected to stay up to date with latest .NET ecosystem changes, Microsoft platform capabilities, secure development practices, and modern engineering tools including AI-assisted development where appropriate.
- Practical exposure to front-end development using React is preferred; experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, component-based UI development, API integration, and client-side validation will be an advantage.
- Basic understanding of legacy .NET technologies such as .NET Framework, ASP.NET MVC, Web Forms, WCF, or older enterprise application patterns will be an advantage, as some existing platforms may require maintenance, enhancement, troubleshooting, or gradual modernisation alongside modern .NET development.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, willingness to learn, adaptability to changing priorities, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
