Network Administrator
Salary: Great contract rate depending on experience!
Our client is a global technology services organisation delivering mission-critical infrastructure to one of its major clients. This is a hands-on role for a seasoned network professional who enjoys owning the day-to-day health of a large, multi-site environment and being the go-to person when things need to be fixed fast.You'll be based on-site in Adelaide five days a week, working within an established operations team on an initial 12-month contract with an ASAP start.
What you'll be doing
- Administer and support enterprise network infrastructure spanning multiple ANZ sites
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, wireless controllers and access points
- Act as the L2/L3 escalation point for critical incidents and service requests, seeing issues through to resolution
- Investigate and resolve connectivity, performance, latency and wireless problems across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and VPN
- Manage firewall policies, VPN tunnels and broader network security controls
- Monitor network health, capacity, utilisation and availability using enterprise tooling
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement preventive actions to stop recurring issues
- 8+ years in enterprise network operations and administration
- Deep hands-on experience across LAN/WAN, routing, switching, wireless and VPN
- Multi-vendor exposure; Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto or equivalent
- Solid grounding in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, STP, OSPF, BGP and network security
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, NAC and network access policies
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios or Zabbix
- Strong troubleshooting instincts across connectivity, performance, routing and wireless
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes
