Network Administrator – Full Time

Location: Amityville, NY Salary Range: $70,000–$80,000 annually Employment Type: Full-Time

Hope For Youth is seeking a Network Administrator to support the technology needs of our employees and programs across Long Island. This position plays an important role in keeping our systems, equipment, and network resources running effectively so our teams can remain focused on providing services to children, youth, and families.

The Network Administrator will provide day-to-day IT and network support, including user administration, Microsoft 365, network connectivity, equipment management, and employee technical support. This position will work closely with our external IT contractor on server maintenance, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and advanced technical matters, escalating Level 2 and Level 3 issues as needed.

We are looking for a hands-on, service-oriented, and organized professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills who enjoys working directly with employees, provides responsive and approachable support, and can troubleshoot technology while continuing to develop their network and systems administration expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer Microsoft Active Directory, including user accounts, permissions, security groups, password resets, and access management.
  • Support Microsoft 365 administration, including user accounts, licensing, permissions, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
  • Support Microsoft Azure/Entra ID and cloud-based systems in coordination with the external IT contractor, including user access, security, system reliability, and routine maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networks, and related network technologies.
  • Assist the external IT contractor with server and network hardware maintenance, system updates, and infrastructure needs.
  • Provide Level 1 IT Help Desk support to employees across all Hope For Youth locations and employees working remotely using agency-issued and approved non-agency equipment.
  • Review and prioritize IT Help Desk requests based on severity and business impact and escalate Level 2 and Level 3 issues to the external IT contractor as needed.
  • Troubleshoot Windows 11, computers, printers, software, mobile devices, connectivity, and other technology, including workstation setup, configuration, restoration, and deployment.
  • IT onboarding and offboarding, including creation and deactivation of network/Active Directory accounts, system access, and IT equipment deployment and collection.
  • Purchase, configure, manage, and deploy IT equipment and agency-issued mobile phones across Hope For Youth locations.
  • Maintain accurate IT inventory, asset, equipment, and licensing documentation.
  • Support established cybersecurity practices, system updates, access controls, backups, and disaster recovery activities in coordination with the external IT contractor.
  • Track open IT issues and action items with vendors and contractors through resolution.
  • Assist with technology upgrades, system implementations, and other special IT projects.
  • Assist with the development, maintenance, and updating of IT policies, procedures, and the organization's Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Set up workstation profiles and provide technology training and guidance to staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of related IT experience, including experience supporting network environments, systems, end users, and the technologies and responsibilities outlined above.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365 administration and licensing, and Duo MFA.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networks, and network topology.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 11 and experience troubleshooting hardware, software, printers, network connectivity, and end-user technology.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, MFA, endpoint security, user access management, backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience configuring, deploying, maintaining, and tracking computers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, documentation, communication, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to independently resolve Level 1 technical issues and appropriately identify and escalate Level 2 and Level 3 issues.
  • Strong customer service and people skills required.
  • Ability to support technology needs across Hope For Youth locations as needed.
  • Physical Requirements: read/write reports and log entries, walking/standing/sitting for prolonged periods, bending/stooping, kneeling/squatting, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, repetitive wrist/finger movements, ongoing access to reliable vehicle and driving own vehicle for work (mileage reimbursement available).

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft 365, or Microsoft Azure are preferred but not required.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range is $70,000–$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and technical skills.
