Network Architect
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the Delivery Architect following project award, providing technical ownership and architectural governance throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Design end-to-end enterprise network and security architectures that meet business, operational, performance, scalability, resilience, and security requirements.
- Translate business, functional, and technical requirements into comprehensive High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), implementation strategies, and migration plans.
- Lead technical architecture workshops, design reviews, and solution presentations with customers, project teams, and key stakeholders to validate solution approaches and obtain design approval.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to project implementation teams, ensuring solutions are delivered in accordance with approved designs and industry best practices.
- Develop architecture standards, design principles, reference architectures, and technical governance frameworks to ensure consistency across projects.
- Evaluate existing customer infrastructure, identify technology gaps, risks, and dependencies, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies and solution enhancements.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in enterprise networking and cybersecurity technologies, including routing, switching, software-defined networking (SDN), SD-WAN, wireless, network segmentation, Zero Trust, firewall, VPN, Network Access Control (NAC), load balancing, and network monitoring solutions.
- Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to validate solution compatibility, sizing, licensing, interoperability, and implementation approaches.
- Ensure all proposed and implemented solutions comply with organisational security policies, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and governance frameworks.
- Conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs), technical evaluations, benchmarking, and solution validation activities when required.
- Review project deliverables, implementation plans, technical documentation, and deployment strategies to ensure architectural integrity and quality.
- Support technical risk assessments, change management activities, and operational readiness to facilitate successful transition into production and ongoing support.
- Keep abreast of emerging networking and cybersecurity technologies, providing recommendations for innovation and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in enterprise network architecture, solution design, and infrastructure delivery, with experience leading architecture and design activities for medium to large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, including routing and switching, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VXLAN, EVPN, SD-WAN, wireless networking, multicast, QoS, DNS, DHCP, and IPv6.
- Extensive experience in designing enterprise network security solutions involving Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), VPN, IPS/IDS, Network Access Control (NAC), Zero Trust architecture, micro-segmentation, and secure remote access.
- Experience with enterprise technologies from vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, Juniper, Arista, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, F5, SolarWinds, and other leading networking platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of solution architecture methodologies, system integration, infrastructure migration, high availability, disaster recovery, and network resilience.
- Proven experience engaging customers, conducting technical workshops, gathering requirements, and translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce architecture documents, technical specifications, network diagrams, design standards, and implementation guides.
- Familiarity with Singapore Government or Defence ICT environments, IM8, Cybersecurity Agency (CSA) guidelines, or equivalent regulatory frameworks will be an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, CCIE, PCNSE, NSE 4/5/6/7, CCSA/CCSE, or equivalent vendor certifications are highly preferred.
- Self-driven, adaptable, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced project environment.
