Network & Database Administrator

Overview

Zenith Innovations, a leading software company based in Islamabad, Pakistan, is seeking a talented Network/Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. As a Network/Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure and databases.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Monitor network performance and security to identify and address potential issues proactively.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Administer and optimize databases to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and integrity.
• Plan and execute database backup and recovery procedures to minimize data loss and downtime.
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot database applications and solutions.
• Install and configure database software and associated components.
• Perform routine network and database maintenance tasks, such as patching, updates, and system optimizations.
• Respond to and resolve network and database-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
• Document network and database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or Database Administrator.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and security principles.
• Proficiency in database management systems, such as MySQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale databases and network infrastructures.
• Strong understanding of backup and recovery procedures for databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS or Azure.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex network and database issues.
• Solid understanding of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
