Network Domain Architect – Infoblox / DDI

Discussion

Summary

Lead the end-to-end architecture of a greenfield Infoblox DDI solution spanning Azure Cloud and a data center. You will design HLD/LLD, integrate with Azure/AD/LDAP, and ensure IPv6 readiness and high availability.

REW Technology is looking for an Infoblox DDI Network Architect to lead the end-to-end architecture and design of a greenfield DDI solution spanning Azure Cloud and the CCH Data Center.
In this role, you will own the high-level and low-level architecture, facilitate technical design discussions, align requirements with stakeholders, and ensure the solution delivers high availability, security, IPv6 readiness, and long-term operational stability.
You will work closely with network, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to define the target DDI architecture, guide implementation, support testing and UAT, and ensure a smooth transition into operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, kickoff, stakeholder alignment, timeline definition, risk identification, and the detailed agile delivery plan using Jira/Confluence.
  • Define project governance, roles and responsibilities (RACI), success criteria, and delivery approach.
  • Gather and validate requirements covering DNS zones, DHCP scopes, IP address space, security, HA/DR, and operational needs.
  • Confirm Infoblox appliance sizing and network prerequisites across NIOS-X, physical, and virtual deployments, and produce infrastructure readiness checklists.
  • Facilitate DDI architecture workshops with client and technical stakeholders.
  • Develop HLD and LLD covering Infoblox Grid topology, DNS views, DHCP strategy, IPAM policies, IP addressing, ACLs, firewall rules, replication, and authentication integration.
  • Design and validate DNS, DHCP, and IPAM architecture, including DNSSEC, split-horizon DNS, DHCP failover/load-sharing, IPAM automation, network discovery, and RBAC.
  • Define IPv4/IPv6 addressing and transition strategies.
  • Design integration with Azure networking, data center infrastructure, firewalls, Active Directory, and LDAP.
  • Chair technical design reviews with the client architecture team and obtain formal design sign-off.
  • Provide architectural guidance throughout implementation, resolving design issues and ensuring alignment with the approved architecture.
  • Drive HA, failover, integration, and performance validation, including UAT with network and operations teams.
  • Define the operational model and lead the transition to support, including runbooks, knowledge transfer, warranty/support transition, and acceptance criteria.
  • Provide ongoing SME support for Infoblox provisioning, administration, and future engineering and architecture requirements.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in network engineering and/or architecture, with 5+ years designing enterprise DDI solutions (DNS/DHCP/IPAM).
  • Deep expertise with Infoblox NIOS, including Grid Masters/Members, replication, anycast, and Grid security.
  • Advanced knowledge of DNS, including zones, views (internal/external/DMZ), forwarding, recursion, split-horizon DNS, and DNSSEC.
  • Advanced DHCP knowledge, including scopes, options, reservations, failover, load balancing, and HA models.
  • Strong IPAM experience, including network discovery, policy automation, address allocation workflows, and IPv4/IPv6 planning.
  • Experience integrating DDI platforms with Azure Cloud, data center networks, firewalls, and Active Directory/LDAP.
  • Proven experience creating and presenting HLD/LLD documentation and obtaining design approval in client-facing environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical workshops and design reviews.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Infoblox certifications such as IICNA / IICNE, or equivalent DDI vendor certifications.
  • Experience designing hybrid cloud DDI architectures across Azure and on-premises data centers.
  • Experience with PDIOO or similar infrastructure delivery methodologies.
  • Agile delivery experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience leading UAT, operational handover, and knowledge-transfer activities for infrastructure platforms.
  • Experience providing SME guidance for ongoing Infoblox administration and engineering activities.

Team Composition

  • 1 × Infoblox DDI Network Architect
  • 1 × Infoblox DDI Engineer
The Architect will own the solution architecture, HLD/LLD, stakeholder alignment, design governance, and technical direction, while working closely with the Engineer on implementation, configuration, validation, and operational activities.
