Network Engineer

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Oversee, operate, and maintain the customer network services, including Internet connectivity, private

network, managed network services, and data centre infrastructure.

2. Monitor the health, availability, capacity, and performance of the network infrastructure to ensure service

reliability and SLA compliance.

3. Perform network provisioning, configuration, installation, migration, and decommissioning activities for

infrastructure and customer services.

4. Perform routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, patching, backup, and lifecycle management of

network equipment.

5. Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for escalated incidents, problems, and service requests,

ensuring timely resolution within SLA.

6. Troubleshoot complex network, routing, switching, firewall, VPN, wireless, and connectivity issues by

working with vendors, carriers, and service partners.

7. Participate in customer project implementation, service provisioning, and maintenance activities,

including onsite support when required.

8. Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, IP addressing

plans, asset inventory, configuration records, SOPs, and Method of Procedure (MOP) documents.

9. Participate in change management by preparing implementation plans, risk assessments, rollback

procedures, testing, and post-implementation validation.

10. Monitor security advisories, identify infrastructure vulnerabilities, and implement approved remediation,

firmware updates, and configuration hardening.

11. Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Systems, Service Delivery, and NOC teams to support crossfunctional

projects and operational requirements.

12. Support root cause analysis (RCA), problem management, and continuous service improvement

initiatives following major incidents.

13. Support the Network Manager in implementing network standards, operational policies, capacity

planning, technology refresh, and service improvements.

14. Participate in after-office-hours standby, maintenance windows, and emergency support when required.

Job Requirements: (e.g., educational/ professional qualifications)

Education and Professional Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer

Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.

2. Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise, data centre, or managed network

environments.

3. Possession of an active G50 security clearance is a strong advantage

4. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, DNS,

DHCP, and network troubleshooting.

5. Hands-on experience with enterprise networking and security technologies, including routers, switches,

firewalls, wireless networks, and load balancers.

6. Experience with network monitoring, logging, and management platforms.

7. Familiarity with cloud networking technologies and virtualized infrastructure is an advantage.

8. Experience with network implementation, migration, maintenance, and change management processes.

9. Good understanding of network security principles, cybersecurity best practices, and infrastructure

hardening.

10. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple

priorities.

11. Good communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers,

vendors, and cross-functional teams.

12. Willing to perform after-office-hours support, standby duties, and onsite work when required.

Preferred Professional Certifications

1. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and above

2. Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) 4 and above

3. HPE Aruba Networking Certified Professional – Switching

4. A10 Network Certified Professional

5. ITIL Foundation certification is an added advantage.
