The role monitors the network, resolves incidents and executes approved changes, and maintains segregation between the BHS and airport IT, so that the network remains available, secure and does not disrupt live baggage flow.

  • Provide site-based network support for the BHS across different sites (similar systems, site-specific differences), with guidance from the Hotline and senior engineers
  • Travel between sites at short notice for emergencies
  • Report to CIT Manager; site-based
  • Monitor the BHS network (core/access switches, redundant rings, firewalls, links to HLC servers and PLCs) for degradation or failure
  • Respond to network alarms; log, handle and close incidents and service requests; escalate per the escalation matrix
  • Support site Operations & Maintenance (O&M) during peak operations and incidents; on shift, standby or after-hours as required
  • Diagnose connectivity between HLC, PLCs, SCADA workstations and airport interfaces using CLI, logs, packet captures (Wireshark) and NMAP
  • Support root cause analysis with vendors, Hotline and service providers; record fixes and lessons learned
  • Execute only authorised changes under formal change management and customer approval (SUCO/SAR)
  • Plan work in agreed low-traffic windows; back up configurations and prepare rollback before every change
  • Remediate vulnerabilities; apply patches and firmware updates to network devices
  • Maintain segregation between the BHS and airport IT (firewall rules, VLANs, access control); close client VAPT findings with Hotline
  • Support hardware rollout, migration and refresh, and network work for BHS expansions, without disrupting live baggage flow
  • Support requirements gathering, SIT/UAT, cut-over planning and handover; support FAT, SAT and commissioning
  • Maintain network diagrams, IP/VLAN plans, asset inventory, patch-panel records and the knowledge base
  • Prepare reports for stakeholders; explore automation, scripting and AI-assisted tools for monitoring and configuration checks

Requirement:

  • Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network / Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Junior level (2-3 yrs) in network support or administration, ideally on live operational systems; fresh graduates with relevant internship or project experience may be considered
  • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing & switching; exposure to Wireshark, NMAP, packet captures, monitoring tools, logs and CLI
  • Advantage: industrial networks (PROFINET), firewalls, CCNA; experience in 24/7 or critical operations
  • Experience or exposure to ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO/IEC 27001 (information security management) and VAPT will be an advantage
  • Able to obtain an Airport Pass and work airside; able to work shifts, standby or after-hours as required
  • Certifications such as CCNA / CCNP, CompTIA Network+ / Security+ will be an advantage
