Network Engineer - Cisco CCNP

Salary: £104,000 - 117,000 per year

Requirements:

• We ideally want you to hold Cisco CCNP certification, or an equivalent qualification.
• We need at least three years of experience in a comparable network engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of several of the following is important: Cisco and Check Point firewall rule bases, access lists, NAT and PAT, TCP/IP and UDP, BGP and OSPF routing, policy-based routing, DNS and DHCP, VLANs, trunk ports, port channels and STP, Cisco ACI, Nexus and Catalyst, ASA and Firepower, Wireless LAN Controllers and Access Points, VPNs and IPSec, VoIP including SIP, SBCs and ATAs, PKI and certificate management, load balancing and reverse proxy technologies, Microsoft 365 and Azure network connectivity.
• We need a methodical approach to troubleshooting and strong analytical skills.
• You must be confident taking ownership of technical issues through to resolution.
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is required.

Responsibilities:

• We want you to provide hands-on support across a broad range of network technologies.
• You will support Cisco ACI, Nexus and Catalyst switching, Cisco ASA and Firepower, Check Point firewalls, wireless infrastructure, load balancers and reverse proxies, IP address management and voice technologies.
• You will work across WAN, LAN and campus networks, corporate Wi-Fi, public and private APNs, remote-access and site-to-site VPNs, and Microsoft 365 and Azure connectivity.
• You will contribute to local, regional and national technology projects.
• You will help deliver resilient IT systems and services within a critical public service environment.
• You will maintain connectivity that underpins critical frontline services.
• You will support a complex, highly available network environment within our specialist infrastructure team.
• You will work across multiple sites across our regional estate when required.

We are a major UK public sector organisation with a specialist infrastructure team supporting a complex, highly available network environment. This is a 12-month contract role based primarily in Bradford, West Yorkshire, with travel across the wider region as required. The position is inside IR35 and offers a rate of £400-£450 per day. It is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced Cisco-focused Network Engineer to work across a technically varied estate spanning multiple data centres, on-premises infrastructure and cloud services, where network availability and resilience directly support critical public services.
