Network Engineer (Cisco)

Summary

Design, configure, and maintain enterprise Cisco networks including ASA firewalls, VPNs, and routing protocols for large-scale environments.

Salary: £45,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Strong enterprise networking experience
  • CCNA certification or equivalent networking qualification
  • CCNP certification would be highly advantageous, but is not essential
  • Experience supporting large-scale network environments, including firewalls and VPN architectures
  • Exposure to Cisco ASA and Check Point technologies
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, routing technologies, WAN implementation, campus LAN environments and wireless networking
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Confidence using diagnostic and monitoring tools to identify performance issues, analyse network traffic and support capacity planning
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and adapt quickly to new technologies
  • SC Clearance is required
Responsibilities:
  • Support, monitor, maintain and enhance our network infrastructure across multiple sites
  • Work with WAN, LAN, WLAN and firewall technologies
  • Play an active role in the network team to ensure connectivity and performance across all locations
  • Contribute to network design, implementation and ongoing improvement projects
  • Deploy and configure network equipment
  • Support firewall and VPN technologies
  • Troubleshoot network issues and carry out fault isolation and resolution
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation
  • Monitor the overall health of the network environment
  • Support hardware and software standards
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Provide hands-on installation and technical support when required
