Network Engineer

Summary

Maintains and troubleshoots du’s IP transport network across data centers, core, and aggregation layers using Cisco, Nokia, and Huawei gear and protocols like BGP, OSPF, and QoS.

Act as second level of support for the fault & problem management process to operate in a proactive manner all du Transport Network that hosting/carrying du different systems/services in all du Data Centers/ Core/ Aggregation and points of interconnects. Verification and execution of all activities related to network expansions, network optimization and all other similar operational activities that support and enhance the “du” business systems, processes, and services.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in computer, electrical, network Engineering or IT (any telecom equivalent)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional – CCNP
  • Wireshark capture analysis, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP model, QOS, AAA, python or basic scripting knowledge.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in IP Networking for telecommunication industry
  • Deep Knowledge of all Routing/switching Layer 3 and Layer 2 protocols, and high-level layers protocols as per OSI and TCP/IP stacks.
  • Knowledge of Infra and networks and implementation and maintenance of access layer as well as IIB implementations.
  • Should have experience on Cisco, Nokia and Huawei Routers / Switches
  • Deep Knowledge of high Application balancing and WAF Rules, Security policies, roaring, switching, Multi-Vendor Access Networks.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide the needed-on time support and troubleshooting for all issues happens in Fixed Access and Aggregation domains, since connectivity provided through IP.
  • Do the needful escalation and involve vendors on time affecting manner in case of need, and ensuring adequate follow up and problem resolution within contracted SLAs.
  • Performing periodic analysis of performance reports and observations to proactively prevent issues from occurring
  • Overall responsibility that periodic reviews of devices configuration to remove any wrong or unneeded configuration are done
  • Meeting with service owners as customers to understand their problems and giving proper response for their queries.
  • Handling daily Trouble Tickets as per du operation policies and scope of work.
  • Oversee the provisioning of periodic and ad-hoc reports to planning team to help in the capacity planning and future upgrades of service delivery platforms and Data-Centers network.
  • Providing the needed update for RFO – Reason for outage (if any)/following up all recommendation to avoid re-occurrence of similar faults till it take place.
  • Assisting different planning teams/Acceptance Team in all Network Nodes Integrations, propose/attend ATP to assure redundancy, symmetry and best ways of integration are used.
