I'm recruiting on behalf of a leading global education provider headquartered in Perth, seeking a Network Engineer to join their Corporate IT team. This is a chance to shape a genuinely global network while driving automation and infrastructure strategy at scale.
What You'll Be Doing

• Acting as an escalation point for the network team, monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting global WAN, LAN, security and VoIP environments
• Contributing to major network deployments, site expansions, hardware refreshes and architecture enhancements
• Influencing technology roadmaps, evaluating emerging technologies and working with business leaders and external vendors
• Identifying and delivering automation opportunities using Python and Ansible to streamline manual tasks and drive repeatable, code-driven change
• Standardising global configurations through programmatic templating to improve efficiency and reduce configuration errors
• Mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of continuous learning
• Maintaining network diagrams, deployment standards and knowledge-base documentation

What We're Looking For

• Cisco CCNP/CCIE certification, or equivalent enterprise-level experience
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise LAN/WLAN, VLANs, L2/L3 switching and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto/Panorama, plus Cisco ISE, Cisco Secure Access and VPN technologies (IPSec, DMVPN, SSLVPN)
• Strong proficiency in Python and Ansible
• Experience with JSON, YAML and XML, and working knowledge of REST APIs and NETCONF/YANG
• Linux experience
• Exposure to version control, DevOps practices and CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins
• Familiarity with AWS and Azure cloud networking concepts
• Proven ability to mentor technical staff, manage stakeholders and align technical solutions with business goals
• Willingness to work outside standard hours when required
