Key Responsibilities:
As a Network Engineer within Network Engineering, you install and support network equipment, firewalls and appliances across the Enterprise, Extranet and eCommerce networks, and support day-to-day network operations alongside the wider team.
• Install network equipment, firewalls and appliances across the Enterprise, Extranet and eCommerce networks.
• Assist the team in day-to-day operations in network-related fields.
• Carry out site assessment, co-ordination and supervision of installations at financial institutions with network connectivity to the bank.
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco network equipment.
• Configure and troubleshoot F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto andCheck Point firewalls.
Key Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 4 years’ relevant experience preferably in a Finance Institution.
Essential:
• Engineering competency. Strong technical, analytical and engineering competencies with hands-on experience managing routers, switches and firewalls, identity-related technologies and WAN transport.
• Product experience. Up-to-date hands-on experience with Cisco products and platforms including Wireless, DNAC, APIC/ACI and Prime Infra, as well as Fortinet, Check Point, Palo Alto, VMware NSX-T andF5.
• Network architecture. Familiar with WAN routing protocols, QoS and CoS, micro-segmentation, Content Delivery Network, three-layer hierarchical and spine-leaf architecture and cloud networking, with experience of Telco business and operations.
• Emerging technologies. Working experience with SASE, software-defined networking, SD-WAN and software-defined access is desired.
• Ownership. A good team player with a strong sense of ownership, self-motivated and able to work with little supervision while collaborating with peers to deliver network outcomes.
• Good communicator. Strong written, documentation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Leadership. Thought leadership and influencing skills, able to steer goals and deliverables and build a high-performing team.
• Personal qualities. Meticulous, energetic, resourceful and inspirational.
Good to have:
• Working experience in scripting and network automation.
• Familiarity with IT ticketing tools such as Remedy ISM and with network management tools.
Technical Skills:
• Routing and switching. Cisco routers and switches, Nexus and Catalyst.
• Firewalls. Palo Alto, Check Point and Fortinet.
• Load balancing. F5 LTM, GTM and WAF.
