Network Engineer

Summary

A contingent network engineer supports global production networks (edge, backbone, CDN) by deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting IP routing/switching protocols (BGP, MPLS, SDN) while maintaining hardware and server systems.

Our client is looking for a Network Engineer to join their team in Dublin, Ireland.


Duration - 11 months
Location - Hybrid at Balls bridge (3 days onsite)

Summary:


This role is designed to support our network deployment and support operations. The position is not a full-time opportunity and is intended for a contingent worker or independent contractor.


Responsibilities

  • Deploy and support our global production including edge, backbone, data center, campus, and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure.
  • Generate implementation plans including Method of Procedure (MOP) and Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Design Packages (EDP), Scope of Works (SOW), Network equipment and server Rack Face Elevations (RFE).
  • Configure and troubleshoot IP routing and switching technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, ISIS, MPLS, RSVP, and SDN.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, network, and automated tooling.
  • Support server operating systems (Linux or Windows), perform server hardware repairs, and apply basic networking concepts (HTTP, DNS, ZTP, DHCP).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability and performance.
  • Document technical processes and solutions in accordance with Meta standards.


Requirements

  • 3–4 years of experience configuring and troubleshooting IP routing/switching technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, ISIS, MPLS, RSVP, SDN).
  • Familiarity with server operating systems (Linux or Windows), server hardware repairs, and basic networking concepts (HTTP, DNS, ZTP, DHCP).
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, network, and automated tooling.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
