Network Engineer - Professional

The opportunity

Step into the heart of global payments security as part of our dynamic, cross-country Tech Squad within the Network Department. In this critical role, you will be the guardian of our network perimeter, ensuring that every firewall change meets our rigorous security standards and PCI DSS compliance. You will have the autonomy to streamline complex rulebases across cutting-edge firewall technologies, assess network risks, and actively contribute to optimizing our internal compliance platforms.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• You validate complex firewall opening requests across multi-vendor environments in strict accordance with PCI DSS and Worldline security policies.
• You conduct thorough risk assessments on incoming rule requests to proactively identify, mitigate, and prevent potential network security vulnerabilities.
• You optimize network rulebases by diligently detecting, analyzing, and removing unused, duplicated, or disabled firewall rules across enterprise systems.
• You autonomously schedule and execute clean-up activities, collaborating closely with the Change Advisory Board to secure necessary deployment validations.
• You actively improve internal firewall compliance tooling by classifying bug reports, opening tickets, and proposing actionable code or process patches.

• You bring at least 2 years of professional experience working in network or security operations within complex enterprise environments.
• You possess solid hands-on expertise managing leading firewall platforms such as Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco ASA and FTD.
• You have substantial knowledge and operational working experience utilizing firewall management and compliance automation tools like AlgoSec or Tufin.
• You demonstrate a solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk assessment principles, and PCI DSS compliance requirements for network traffic.
• You demonstrate high technical rigor, outstanding attention to detail, and the autonomy required to lead independent security maintenance initiatives.
• You show natural curiosity, a strong problem-solving mindset, and a genuine eagerness to continuously learn evolving network security technologies.
• You collaborate effectively within a multicultural, cross-country technical squad, showing clear communication and constructive teamwork across diverse technical projects.
