Network Infrastructure Engineer
Summary
The Network Infrastructure Engineer will manage global network connectivity and end-user computing environments, ensuring secure and scalable IT infrastructure across Sodecia's international locations. The role involves hands-on support for LAN/WAN, Microsoft 365, Azure, and endpoint management while collaborating with cybersecurity and IT teams.
SODECIA is looking for a Global Network & Infrastructure Engineer to design, operate and continuously improve its global IT infrastructure across plants, offices, and corporate locations.
The role combines network engineering, infrastructure, cloud connectivity, endpoint management, and cybersecurity, with a strong focus on standardization, resilience, performance and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, operate and optimize LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN and remote-access infrastructures.
- Configure and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, routing and switching issues.
- Implement network segmentation, redundancy, secure connectivity, and performance monitoring.
- Support SD-WAN, hybrid infrastructure, and IT/OT connectivity across industrial environments.
- Manage connectivity between on-premises infrastructure, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Administer and standardize the global Windows endpoint environment using Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager.
- Manage endpoint provisioning, configuration, software deployment, patching and lifecycle.
- Provide L2/L3 technical support, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex infrastructure incidents.
- Implement infrastructure and endpoint security controls, including EDR, MFA, vulnerability remediation, hardening, and patch management.
- Support compliance with NIS2, TISAX and ISO 27001 requirements.
- Define and enforce global infrastructure standards, configurations, and technical documentation.
- Lead or contribute to infrastructure migrations, technology upgrades, and global deployment projects.
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, resilience, and cost optimization.
Technical Environment
The role requires strong hands-on knowledge of:
Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, routing, switching, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, network monitoring, segmentation, and SD-WAN.
Microsoft & Cloud: Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune / Endpoint Manager, Windows, hybrid infrastructure, and cloud connectivity.
Infrastructure: virtualization, backup/recovery, infrastructure monitoring, asset/configuration management, and lifecycle management.
Security: EDR, MFA, IAM principles, vulnerability management, security hardening, patch management, and network security.
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Telecommunications, Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in network, infrastructure, cloud, or workplace engineering.
- Proven experience in enterprise and multi-site environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with network infrastructure and Microsoft technologies.
- Experience with Azure, Microsoft 365 and Intune.
- Experience working with MSPs, system integrators and technology vendors.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial IT is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of IT/OT environments is a strong advantage.
- Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft/Azure, Fortinet, Cisco, Aruba or ITIL are valued.
