Roles & Responsibilities
A Network Operations Engineer maintains, monitors, and optimizes an organization's network infrastructure. They ensure maximum uptime, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and respond to network incidents in real-time.
· Network Monitoring & Alerting: Utilize advanced network management and monitoring tools to observe network traffic, bandwidth utilization, and overall system health.
· Incident Management: Diagnose, isolate, and resolve network outages, packet loss, orhardware failures. Conduct root cause analysis for major incidents.
· Maintenance& Upgrades: Schedule and execute firmware updates, software patches, and hardware replacements.
· Security Implementation: Enforce network security measures, including managing firewalls, VPNs, and access control lists.
· Vendor& Stakeholder Collaboration: Escalate unresolved tickets to tier-3specialists and coordinate with external internet service providers (ISPs) or equipment vendors.
Requirements
- Candidate to possess a Diploma/Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication)
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), switching, and software-defined networks (SDN)
- Familiarity with network diagnostic tools like Wireshark, tcp dump, and traceroute.
- Relevant industry credentials like CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or JNCIP are preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication for liaising with non-technical staff, and readiness for on-call rotation duties.
- Be able to work effectively in a team and independently.
