Network Security Analyst

The ideal candidate for this role will have a genuine interest in Cybersecurity and a solid understanding of IT infrastructure and Microsoft environments. They should be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced MSP environment supporting multiple customers. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively while contributing to security operations, incident response, and continuous service improvement.

Nostra has offices in Dublin, Galway, Cork and Belfast. This role will be based in our Dublin office.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and respond to alerts across security platforms (e.g. Huntress, Microsoft Defender, and other SOC/SIEM tools where applicable).
  • Investigate and triage security incidents, escalating where required.
  • Manage and update security-related tickets within Autotask.
  • Support endpoint protection platforms (Defender, Webroot, Datto AV, etc.).
  • Support email security platforms (Barracuda, Mimecast, Datto SaaS Protection).
  • Assist with Microsoft Intune (device enrolment, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Support Cloud Shield services, including basic administration and monitoring.
  • Assist with Conditional Access policies (review, updates, and basic configuration).
  • Participate in incident response activities.
  • Support managed services teams with security-related escalations.
  • Assist with Security Awareness Training (InfoSec) activities.
  • Contribute to ongoing security improvements and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure (endpoints, servers, networking basics).
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows environments (desktop and server).
  • Basic understanding of cloud security concepts (Microsoft 365, Azure, Identity).
  • Familiarity with Conditional Access and identity security concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop in security.
Nice to have:
  • Experience with security tools such as Huntress, Microsoft Defender, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security, Intune, and Cloud environments.
  • Basic knowledge of firewalls (e.g. SonicWall).
  • Experience supporting Conditional Access policies.
  • Security+ certification (or working towards it).
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop in security.
