Network Security Engineer Akamai
Salary: $1k - $1050 p.d.

Join a leading utilities organisation on a six-month contract, supporting a busy Network Security team through a period of transition. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on the day-to-day operation, troubleshooting and improvement of critical security platforms.
You'll work across Akamai, Zscaler and Proofpoint, partnering with cyber, infrastructure and project stakeholders to maintain platform stability, respond to incidents and support secure delivery across a complex enterprise technology environment based in Melbourne.
About the role
- Provide hands-on operational support, configuration and troubleshooting across network security platforms.
- Take ownership of Akamai environments, supporting web application firewall and associated security capabilities.
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot Zscaler, including onboarding and supporting complex business applications.
- Support and optimise Proofpoint email security capabilities and associated security controls.
- Investigate platform and security incidents, troubleshoot network issues and implement required remediation.
- Collaborate with SOC, Incident Response, Security Architecture, infrastructure and project teams on BAU and project delivery.
About you
- Strong hands-on Akamai experience, with the ability to operate independently from day one.
- Demonstrated experience configuring, managing and troubleshooting Zscaler in complex enterprise environments.
- Practical experience administering and supporting Proofpoint email security solutions.
- Strong network security knowledge across firewalls, proxies, TCP/IP, web protocols and security controls.
- Excellent troubleshooting and incident response skills within complex enterprise technology environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
