Salary: $135,000 package including Superannuation
The opportunity
Marble Arch Consulting Group (MAC) is seeking an experienced Network & Security Engineer to join our Managed Services team in Alexandria, Sydney.
You’ll help maintain the operational health of the network and security infrastructure we manage for our customers. This hands-on role covers enterprise routing and switching, wireless, load balancing and security platforms, with opportunities to resolve complex incidents, deliver approved changes and support new solution implementations.
As an experienced member of the team, you’ll act as an escalation point for junior engineers, take a leading role during major incidents and contribute to the team’s technical development.
What you’ll be doing
Monitor customer network and security environments and respond to alerts
Investigate and resolve incidents, service requests and work orders within agreed SLAs
Lead the resolution of complex and major incidents
Own tickets throughout their lifecycle, coordinating with vendors and technical teams
Implement standard and approved changes, including occasional out-of-hours changes
Support Cisco routing, switching and wireless infrastructure
Operate and support Fortinet security platforms
Develop runbooks, knowledge articles and operational procedures
Onboard and maintain customer devices within SolarWinds and PRTG
Provide accurate handovers for open incidents and in-flight changes
Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development
Assist with implementations, migration planning, testing and as-built documentation
Support the successful transition of new solutions into production
Contribute to service reporting and continuous improvement
What you’ll bring
Three to five years’ hands-on experience supporting enterprise network and security infrastructure
Experience gained in an MSP, enterprise service desk or comparable operational environment
Operational experience with Fortinet FortiGate and FortiManager
Cisco routing and switching experience, including Catalyst and ASR
Experience with Cisco Nexus/NX-OS and/or Cisco wireless technologies such as Prime, WLC, Spaces or ISE
Experience working within ITIL incident, change and problem-management processes
Experience using network monitoring and IT service-management or ticketing systems
Cisco CCNA or equivalent knowledge demonstrated through practical experience
A structured approach to troubleshooting and incident resolution
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Willingness and eligibility to work staggered rostered hours and participate in an on-call rotation

Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama
Zscaler Branch Connector or Zscaler Internet Access
Aruba switching, wireless or ClearPass
Cisco CUCM or Webex Cloud
F5 or comparable load-balancing platforms
MPLS and SD-WAN
ServiceNow, SolarWinds or PRTG
Network scripting or automation
CCNP, Fortinet certification, ITIL Foundation or relevant tertiary qualifications
