About the role
We are looking for a Junior Network Security Engineer to join our IT team and support the operation and security of our network infrastructure. This is a hands-on role suitable for someone who has a strong interest in networking and cybersecurity and is looking to develop practical experience with enterprise network and security technologies.
Key responsibilities
Assist in the configuration and maintenance of firewalls, VPNs, switches, and network security devices
Monitor network traffic, security alerts, and system logs
Assist with troubleshooting network connectivity and security issues
Support firewall rule changes and access control management
Assist with network security monitoring and incident investigation
Perform basic network and security health checks
Assist with vulnerability scanning and remediation activities
Maintain network diagrams, configuration records, and technical documentation
Support software, firmware, and security updates
Work with senior engineers to implement and maintain network security solutions
About you
Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related field
0–2 years of experience in IT, networking, or cybersecurity
Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, routing, switching, and VPN
Basic knowledge of network security concepts such as firewalls, access control, IDS/IPS, and common network threats
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Willingness to learn new technologies and security practices
Good communication and documentation skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
