  • Network Design & Implementation:
    • Design and implement scalable and secure network architectures encompassing Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and Data Center Networks (DCNs).
    • Select and configure network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers to optimize network performance and security.
    • Oversee the design and implementation of structured cabling systems (copper and fiber optic) to support network connectivity across all locations.
  • Network Operations & Maintenance:
    • Proactively monitor network performance using monitoring tools and identify potential issues before they impact operations.
    • Troubleshoot network connectivity problems, ensuring efficient resolution and minimal downtime.
    • Implement network security best practices and maintain robust network access controls.
    • Manage network configurations and documentation for smooth operation and future reference.
  • WAN Optimization & Connectivity:
    • Design and implement secure and reliable WAN connections for optimal communication between geographically dispersed locations (MPLS, VPN, SD-WAN).
    • Configure and manage WAN optimization solutions to improve application performance over long distances.
    • Monitor WAN performance and bandwidth utilization, identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimization strategies.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Proactively monitor network activity for suspicious behavior and potential security incidents.
    • Participate in incident response procedures to identify, contain, and remediate security breaches.
    • Analyze security logs and network traffic to identify root causes of security incidents and prevent future occurrences.

o Prioritize and implement timely security patches and updates to mitigate vulnerabilities and minimize risks.

o Ensure network infrastructure and configurations adhere to relevant industry security standards and local compliance regulations.

    • Work with IT security and cybersecurity teams to implement and maintain necessary security controls.
  • Capacity Planning & Futureproofing:
    • Analyze current and projected network traffic to proactively plan for future network capacity needs.
    • Research and recommend innovative network technologies and solutions to enhance performance, security, and scalability.
    • Analyze current and projected data center resource utilization (power, cooling, space) to anticipate future needs
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in network engineering.
  • Data Center Operations & Maintenance:
    • Supervise regular preventive maintenance on all data center equipment – power distribution units (PDUs), cooling systems, fire suppression systems, and more.
    • Monitor and troubleshoot data center environment metrics like temperature, humidity, and power usage to ensure optimal performance and adherence to industry standards.
    • Oversee the implementation of new equipment and technologies in the data center environment.
    • Oversee the implementation of corrective actions and repairs to maintain equipment functionality and minimize downtime.
    • Implement cable management best practices to ensure proper airflow and organization within the data center.
    • Lead data center infrastructure upgrade projects, ensuring timely and successful completion within budget constraints
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data center equipment, configurations, and maintenance procedures.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in network design, implementation, and administration.
  • Proven experience in managing complex network environments, including LANs, WANs, SD-WAN and DCNs.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and network security principles.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG).
  • Familiarity with structured cabling best practices and standards (TIA/EIA-568).
  • In-depth understanding of data center infrastructure components (power, cooling, fire suppression, networking).
  • Knowledge of data center design principles and best practices
  • Familiarity with data center monitoring and management tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
