Network Security Engineer (Testing & Commissioning)

Salary: RM 4,500 – RM 6,000 per month

Job Responsibilities:

1. Install, configure, test and commission network security products such as next-generation firewalls, VPN gateways, IPS/IDS, web and email security gateways, network access control (NAC) and endpoint security.

2. Prepare and carry out Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and Proof of Concept (PoC) according to the test procedures, record results and close any issues found.

3. Configure firewall policies, NAT, site-to-site and remote access VPN, VLAN and routing to integrate security devices into the customer network.

4. Perform security hardening, firmware upgrades and configuration backups based on vendor best practice.

5. Support vulnerability scanning and log review (SIEM / syslog) during testing, commissioning and handover.

6. Prepare project documents such as test reports, as-built configurations, network diagrams and handover documents.

7. Troubleshoot issues and provide post-commissioning support, working with the product vendor's technical support (TAC) when needed.

8. Work closely with the presales and project teams on technical requirements and site readiness.

9. Support Presales Team in Tender preparation

10. Able to work in the Klang Valley and outstation within Malaysia.

Job Requirements:

1. Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field.

2. 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in network or network security installation, testing or support.

3. Good understanding of TCP/IP, switching, routing, VLAN, NAT and VPN (IPsec / SSL).

4. Hands-on experience with at least one firewall brand, such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco, Sophos or Huawei.

5. Familiar with common tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, ping/traceroute and iPerf.

6. Good communication and documentation skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

7. Possess own transport and a valid driving licence.

Added Advantage:

1. Candidate with CCNA, CompTIA Security+, Fortinet NSE 4, Palo Alto PCNSA or CEH certification.

2. Exposure to cybersecurity work such as vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, security hardening (e.g. CIS Benchmarks) or SIEM monitoring.

3. Knowledge of OT / industrial network security (e.g. IEC 62443) or experience in railway, transportation or critical infrastructure projects.
