About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Network Team Lead to lead a team of network engineers supporting mission-critical enterprise infrastructure within a highly regulated environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced network professional who enjoys balancing technical leadership with hands-on engineering, while working on large-scale enterprise networks supporting business-critical operations.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor and manage a team of network engineers.
- Plan work allocation and ensure timely delivery of operational and project activities.
- Provide technical guidance and support for complex network issues.
- Conduct performance reviews and support team capability development.
Network Infrastructure
- Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of enterprise LAN, WAN and wireless networks.
- Ensure high availability, security and performance of network infrastructure.
- Monitor network health, analyse performance trends and recommend improvements.
- Lead troubleshooting and incident management for complex network issues.
- Implement and maintain network security controls and best practices.
Project Delivery
- Lead infrastructure projects from planning through implementation and operational handover.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and vendors throughout project execution.
- Manage project risks, technical documentation and change implementation.
Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend infrastructure enhancements.
- Develop and maintain network standards, procedures and operational documentation.
- Ensure compliance with organisational security policies and operational standards.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with:
- Experience leading or mentoring network engineering teams.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale network environments.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies including:CiscoAlcatel (or equivalent enterprise networking platforms)Enterprise LAN/WANWireless NetworksNetwork Security
- Strong knowledge of:TCP/IPDNSDHCPNTP
- Strong troubleshooting skills using tools such as:PingSSHTelnetNetstatNslookupIPConfig
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Experience in network implementation, support and maintenance.
- Experience working within regulated or security-sensitive environments will be advantageous.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in one or more of the following will have an advantage:
- Cisco Catalyst / Nexus
- Cisco Wireless
- Aruba
- Network Access Control (NAC)
- Network monitoring platforms
- Enterprise firewall technologies
- ITIL environments
- Government, defence or critical infrastructure projects
