Neurodiagnostic Technician
Summary
Performs EEG/EMG neurodiagnostic tests, prepares patients, and assists clinicians in healthcare settings.
The Neurodiagnostic Technician performs neurodiagnostic testing across a variety of patient care settings and/or assists physicians/clinicians in the performance of these tests. The role provides EEG/EMG studies to patients and completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
- Responsible for patient scheduling, preparation, and intraprocedural support
- Responsible for performing and documenting appropriate testing as ordered
- Provides EEG/EMG studies to patients.
- Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period
- Maintenance of supplies and equipment related to diagnostic performance
- Performs related duties as required
- Required:
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent
- Certifications: AHA BLS Required
- Preferred:
- Education: Graduate of an approved Electroneurodiagnostic program
- Experience: At least 1 to 2 years experience performing neurodiagnostic testing on all patient age groups in a healthcare setting
- Certifications:
- Registered, or registry eligible, with:
- ASET (American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists); OR
- ABRET (American Board of Electroneurodiagnostic and Evoked Potential Technologists); OR
- Other Nationally recognized certification program for Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists
