Neuropsychologist
Further develop and implement a neuropsychology program and neuropsychological evaluation services based out of an outpatient neurology clinic within a major medical system
- Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations to help clarify cognitive and psychological functioning of patients referred primarily by neurologists within an outpatient neurology practice. Provide diagnostic impressions and recommendations to referring providers, patients, and care partners to help inform treatment and support planning. Please note, referrals are primarily seeking to rule out neurocognitive disorder or clarify severity of neurocognitive disorder. Referrals also include presurgical neuropsychological evaluations for patients with Parkinson’s disease, Essential Tremor, or Epilepsy being considered for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) candidacy.
- Collaborate with and offer consultation for referring medical providers
- Provide some psychotherapeutic intervention and support for patients with neurological conditions
- Attend monthly neuroscience section meetings and medical staff meetings

- Provide professional presentations as part of neuroscience and interdisciplinary education
- Provide psychoeducational presentations for clinic staff
- Facilitate neuropsychological testing externship
- Participate in research
- Facilitate support groups patients with neurological conditions and or their care partners

About Lubbock
Lubbock is considered the “Hub City” and is the medical hub for West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. Access to neuropsychological evaluation is limited in this area and there is a growing need for neuropsychological services. Lubbock is home to Texas Tech University. Basic Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology by start date
- Active license to practice psychology in Texas or active psychology license in another state with ability to obtain Texas psychology licensure by start date if offered the position
- Experience providing neuropsychological evaluation for adults in medical settings
- Basic Life Skills (BLS) training completed by start date
Preferred Additional Qualifications
- Board certification in clinical neuropsychology by the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN) or by the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology (ABN)
- Experience providing pre-surgical evaluation for DBS and Temporal Lobectomy candidacy
- Ability to conduct WADA testing
- Willingness to offer pre- and post- surgical psychotherapeutic support for patients
- Experience providing psychotherapy for patient with functional neurological symptoms
