Neuropsychology Technician I, Registry

Be part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Neuropsychology Technician I Adult Psychiatric department for our Registry at the University of Chicago Medicine at our Hyde Park Location.

Job Summary:

In this role, the Technician will be responsible for the core activities of the Adult Neuropsychology Lab including test administration and scoring of neuropsychology evaluations and consultations; maintaining raw data and test files; and for maintaining the neuropsychology database.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews test files to ensure they are complete and correct

  • Administers 50 different verbal, non-verbal and written neuropsychological and psychological tests
  • Scores tests using standard scoring methods
  • Maintains test files by ensuring raw data and scores are entered in the neuropsychology data base
  • Ensures department has current copies of tests and adequate supply of tests
  • Schedules assessments for in-patients by setting up consultation and lab appointments
  • Collects and maintains referral logs and statistics
  • Conducts interviews with family member and/or caretaker of patients
  • Helps gather special records, such as previous medical and psychological reports from other departments as required to complete patient records
  • Assists with research activities by collecting data and testing data

Qualifications:

  • A B.A. in Psychology or related field is required
  • Knowledge of PC data entry is required
  • Good analytic skills are also required to write reports and contribute to research projects with a high level of organizational skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients, faculty, and staff
