About the Role
Our client, a Lagos-based manufacturing company producing custom doors, kitchens, wardrobes, media walls, and furniture, is seeking a driven Business Development Manager to lead new business development and build its commercial function.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across architects, developers, contractors, corporate and residential clients.
- Take full charge of the sales function from prospecting to closing with minimal oversight.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, referral partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Represent the company at site visits, client meetings, and industry events.
- Track pipeline and sales activity and report progress against targets.
- Lay the foundation for a future sales team, including processes and structure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5–10 years’ experience in sales, business development, or a related field.
- Proven track record of winning and closing business.
- Self-starter who can operate independently and take ownership of results.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Comfortable with a field-based, target-driven role.
- Experience in furniture, interiors, construction, or building materials is an added advantage.
