New Product Planning Manager
Purpose Statement:
Contribute to maximize the value of pipeline assets by leading strategic and commercial assessments that inform franchise asset and portfolio strategy, including optimal labeling decisions
Major Responsibilities:
- As a strategic and commercial representative for Japan Project Team, contribute to maximize the value of pipeline assets by,
- Assessment of pipeline disease area and pipeline asset marketability
- Assessment of market and medical needs, and opportunities to identify optimal labeling
- Leading competitive intelligence to support strategic decision-making
- Providing strategic input to early phase of Brand planning process (Touch Point process)
- As an affiliate expert on pipeline therapeutic areas and assets, work closely with Global and Area Commercial teams to reach alignment on asset strategy.
- Sharing up-to date pipeline assets and target disease information with BUs
- Accountable to lead improvements on:
- New Product Planning infrastructure (assessment tools, database, information, etc.) that is shared across BUs
- Commercial assessment and forecasting process for pipeline assets, ensuring consistency, transparency, and decision usefulness

- Professional experience
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, business development, or related roles, including experience in product or portfolio strategy across multiple products

- Analytical & problem-solving skills
- Capability to plan, design, and lead market research initiatives to generate actionable insights that support strategic decision-making
- Strong ability to analyze complex quantitative and qualitative data, synthesize insights, and develop structured business cases
- Proven experience in formulating and evaluating strategic options, scenarios, and value drivers
- Strategic and business-oriented mindset
- Ability to think from an enterprise-wide and long-term value creation perspective
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic ambition with practical execution considerations
- Executive-level communication & stakeholder management
- Ability to clearly and logically communicate complex analyses and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- Confidence in influencing decision-making through structured storytelling, data-driven arguments, and clear implications
- Ability to provide timely, concise, and relevant updates, and to proactively escalate key issues and decision points to the Head of New Product Planning as appropriate

- Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking), with confidence in presenting and discussing strategic topics in English

- Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, economics, science, engineering, or a related field
- Professional experience
- Preferred
- Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or adjacent industries
- Exposure to new product planning, portfolio strategy, business development, business intelligence or another relevant function
- BSc and a higher degree in science field or MBA
