This is a varied, hands-on role providing database and IT support to the Registry team. Working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, you'll assist with data management, reporting, troubleshooting and ongoing system improvements, helping ensure the Registry's information is accurate, accessible and effectively managed.

You'll also support the Registry Manager with data queries and reporting, assist colleagues with day-to-day technical issues, and liaise with external technology providers as required.

You'll join a friendly, supportive team with a great sense of humour, where your technical skills will make a valuable contribution to the Registry's work and, ultimately, improved patient outcomes.

What we’re looking for

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, including data manipulation and reporting
  • Experience working with databases, data extraction and maintaining data integrity
  • Practical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve everyday IT and application issues
  • Confidence communicating with external technology providers and explaining technical information to colleagues
  • Well-developed organisational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • A proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative approach and a sense of humour
Previous experience in healthcare or another environment involving sensitive or confidential information would be beneficial, but is not essential.

Why join The New Zealand Joint Registry?

The Registry offers a friendly and experienced team who enjoy working together and supporting one another.

This is a 12-month fixed-term position, allowing the Registry to assess its longer-term database and IT support requirements following the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365. The role is 16 hours per week, with flexibility to work two full days or spread your hours across the working week.

The salary range is $75,000-$85,000 FTE (pro rata for 16 hours per week), with additional benefits including a 4% employer KiwiSaver contribution and a wellness grant that can be used for things such as gym membership, sports shoes or prescription glasses.

Based at Christchurch Hospital, this is an opportunity to apply and further develop your technical skills in a meaningful role, supporting a nationally important clinical registry.
