WWL Radio and Audacy New Orleans are looking for a motivated, hard working individual who would like to report and anchor news and traffic for the radio stations and digital properties of Audacy New Orleans.
The winning candidate should have on-air experience, a great attitude, a desire to help the community through broadcast and posted information, have excellent writing skills, and be a great team player.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
- Develop story ideas for coverage
- Gather information, conduct interviews and prepare stories for broadcast and posting
- Anchor news and traffic reports
- Operate a range of technical equipment, including audio control boards, recording and playback gear and computer based recording and other programs
- Evaluate news stories, obtain information and maintain a fresh eye for detail
- Stay up to date with local, national and international news developments.

Required & Preferred:
- Must be helpful in traffic gathering operations.
- Knowledge of the broadcast area geography and transportation systems is essential.
- Must be computer literate, have excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Please submit an audio sample of a previously broadcast traffic report or record yourself doing an example of a traffic report.
- A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of the applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
