Newton School - Manager - B2B Corporate Relations - Placements
Description
ABOUT NEWTON SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY
Newton School exists to close the gap between a million graduates a year and the companies that cannot find talent among them. Newton School of Technology (NST) runs industry-integrated technology programmes, and our placement outcomes are the product. We work with fast-growing companies across AI, Robotics, EV, SaaS and Deep Tech to build internship and placement pipelines for our engineering talent.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a high-calibre corporate relations professional to own strategic relationships with founders, CTOs, HR leaders and engineering managers, and convert them into long-term hiring partnerships. This is a consultative B2B role with end-to-end ownership: you will own a placement number for your cohorts and a portfolio of hiring partners, and the partnerships you build are how you hit it.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, engage and manage relationships with unicorns, soonicorns, Series C and above startups, and enterprises to create placement and internship opportunities for NST students.
- Manage end-to-end relationships with key recruiters - from outreach, MoU signing and onboarding to interview process management and post-hire feedback.
- Proactively generate leads, qualify prospects, and convert them into strategic partnerships and placement opportunities.
- Negotiate terms, draft agreements and finalise contracts so that expectations are aligned on both sides before the first candidate is interviewed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with startup founders, executives and decision-makers.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities and market developments to identify opportunities.
- Work closely with academic teams to align student capabilities with evolving industry skill requirements.
- Maintain accurate databases, placement dashboards and progress reports for visibility on pipeline and outcomes.
- Plan and execute campus recruitment drives, job fairs, industry talks and hackathons to strengthen hiring pipelines.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 3 - 8 years in placements, corporate relations or recruitment - in higher education, EdTech, or a hiring and staffing agency.
- A proven record of hunting and closing large accounts, and of delivering on placement targets - with the numbers to show for it.
- A strong corporate network across technology companies: unicorns, soonicorns, Series C and above startups, and enterprises.
- Deep understanding of the startup ecosystem, technology trends and current hiring practices.
- Strong analytical skills, and the instinct to build partnership strategy from data rather than from habit.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with real negotiating ability, plus proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools and familiarity with placement management platforms.
- Self-motivated with a bias for action, ready to get your hands dirty and push the boundaries.
