NFDS Picker

This is a full-time position.

WORK PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION

• Remove Trash and Recover nonferrous metals from moving conveyor.
• Sort recover material into proper bins.
• Inspect and clean downstream conveyors.
• Cleaning and removal of dirt and trash from the downstream area.
• Communicate with fellow employees on operating procedures and securing material.
• Perform pre and post operational checklist on equipment to maintain optimum operation of equipment on as needed.
• Follow all safety rules of the facility and DO NOT violate the no-walk zone of the Shredder.
• Assist with end of day collection and weighing of all recovered material.
• Perform weekly PMs on motors and gearboxes.
• Follow instructions from the crew leader of the department.
• Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
• Compliance with Employee Handbook
• All other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Pass written and driving Forklift and Bobcat test to obtain Forklift and Bobcat License from TSIMCO.
• Capable of standing in production role for 9-hour work schedule.
• Ability to work in environment that has above normal heat conditions.
• Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS:

• Stands, walk, use hands, reaches, talk and hear frequently.
• Lifts to 50 lbs.
• Requires close vision at 20 inches or less.
• Requires distant vision at 20 feet or more.
• Requires the ability to distinguish colors.
• Requires good peripheral vision.
• Must be able to walk comfortably up to 3 miles daily.
• Required to push/pull and climb ladders greater than 20ft.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Will occasionally be exposed to:

• Work near moving mechanical parts regularly over 5%.
• Work in office environment 95%
• Work in outdoor manufacturing environment 5%
