Night Support Worker Temporary Accommodation. £29,071.00- £32,046.00 per year plus shift enhancements. Permanent 37 hours per week. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the new Temporary Supported Accommodation, for people experiencing homelessness, provided by Swansea Council’s Housing Service.
About the service:
Swansea Council’s Temporary Supported Accommodation will provide accommodation and support for people experiencing homelessness. Our service will run across a 24-hour period 365 days a year.
About the job:
As a Night Support Worker in Temporary Accommodation, you will:
- Provide advice and support on a range of issues faced by residents of the scheme as part of a pathway of support provision from point of homelessness crisis to move on to settled accommodation
- Provide support to address housing issues and/or personal issues, build confidence and ultimately improve residents’ ability to maintain and sustain future accommodation.
- Provide excellent customer service, listening and empathising with residents and showing a desire to help and support
Contribute to the ongoing development of Temporary Supported Accommodation schemes and homelessness services.
What are we looking for?
- A dynamic, self-motivated and organised individual who is committed to making a real difference.
- A strong communicator and problem solver, able to handle difficult and sometimes volatile situations should they arise.
- Proven experience of working within the social housing sector
- Experience of working in supported accommodation and/or support services which align with the Housing Support Grant guidelines and outcomes framework would be an advantage.
