NOC Engineer (Fibre Broadband)

The key duties and responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • First point of contact for day-to-day network operational support.

  • Responsible for network monitoring and operations support involving key infrastructures of fibre broadband business.

  • Respond to all incident reporting, ticketing, emails and calls.

  • Perform first tier fault analysis and troubleshooting with relevant stakeholders before escalating to higher tier for assistance, if required, and work closely for resolution.

  • Supporting change management request with acknowledgement as required.

  • Basic configuration and familiarisation of network elements within the fibre broadband infrastructure.

  • Coordinating between upstream and downstream stakeholders for operational success.

  • Maintaining and updating internal knowledge base to ensure accuracy, relevancy and accessibility of crucial information.

The Potential candidate should possess the below qualities to fulfil the needs of the role:

  • Excellent understanding of telecommunication Network Monitoring Systems with a focus in fibre optics / GPON technology.

  • Must be able to work 12-hours day/night rotational shift in a Network Operations Centre environment.

  • Prior experience in telecommunication or related industry will be advantageous (Fresh graduates are welcome to apply).

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and as a team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Candidates with CCNA or higher networking qualifications will be preferred.

  • Familiar with fibre infrastructure and provider in Singapore, eg. NetLink Trust & key industry players (Telcos / Internet service providers).

  • Meticulous with a keen eye for details and possesses a result driven mentality.

  • Hands on experience with configuration of consumer and enterprise grade devices not limited to optical network terminal, routers, switches, etc.
