NOC Engineer
Position Description
VOLO is hiring a NOC Engineer who will be responsible for monitoring On-Premise and Cloud Infrastructure including network, servers, applications. Moment the system malfunctions and throws the alarm then the NOC L1/L2 engineers do a sanity check quickly and validate if the alarm can be cleared immediately. If the issue cannot be fixed, then they need to escalate the case immediately to the respective support teams. The position operates on a 24/7 schedule, and shifts are assigned based on business and operational needs.
What you will do
Actively monitor network and system alerts to detect potential incidents;
Provide timely response to all incidents, outages and performance alerts. Categorize issues for escalation to appropriate technical teams;
Monitor systems that include, but are not limited to Cloud infrastructure, LAN/WAN systems, routers, switches, firewalls, servers, storage, backup solutions, operating systems and core applications;
Identify the root cause analysis and implement corrective actions;
Identify and implement improvements to existing operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness;
Perform basic systems testing and operational tasks (network connectivity testing, script execution, etc.);
Monitor and ensure compliance with SLAs for network and system performance.
What You Need to Have
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent field;
Around 2 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise networks;
Fundamental knowledge of network engineering: TCP/IP Networking Fundamentals, Routing and Switching Concepts;
Knowledge and hands on experience in Windows and Linux Servers;
Basic knowledge of scripting and automation languages is a plus (Bash, Python, PowerShell);
Knowledge of Cloud Computing Services: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS;
Basic knowledge of database concepts, including relational databases, SQL queries, indexes, and database troubleshooting;
Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS);
Good understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V);
Familiarity with IT service management and ticketing systems (Zendesk, Jira, ServiceNow, etc.);
Ability to quickly assess and address problems, escalating as necessary;
Must be willing and able to work non-standard work shifts, including evenings and overnight;
Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken;
Ability to work in a team.
