VSO is seeking an experienced and innovative NOC Network Solutions Engineer (Tier 4) to join our team in Lorton, Virginia. This senior-level role is perfect for professionals who excel in network architecture, strategic planning, and high-level problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement complex network solutions to support enterprise-level operations.
- Lead network architecture projects and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Evaluate emerging network technologies and recommend solutions to enhance performance, security, and scalability.
- Collaborate with Tier 3 engineers and other technical teams to develop and implement network improvements.
- Provide expert-level guidance on troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical network issues.
- Develop and enforce network policies, standards, and best practices.
- Oversee capacity planning, performance optimization, and future-proofing of network infrastructure.
- Mentor and support NOC staff across all tiers to build technical competencies and ensure consistent operations.
- Document network designs, solutions, and policies for knowledge sharing and future reference.
- Participate in executive-level discussions regarding network strategies and investments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of experience in network engineering, architecture, or solutions development.
- Expertise in enterprise networking protocols, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, TCP/IP, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Advanced knowledge of network security principles and solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption.
- Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale, mission-critical network systems.
- Strong understanding of hybrid and cloud networking environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
