We are seeking native Norwegian speakers with strong English comprehension to join our global linguistic community as Freelance Linguistic Testers. No prior testing experience is required—we provide full training! If you own a modern Mac and have a sharp eye for detail, this is your opportunity to work on cutting-edge IT and AI projects.

Position Overview

  • Language Pair: English to Norwegian
  • Domain: Information Technology, Software, and AI Content
  • Experience: No previous linguistic testing experience required. Training and guidelines will be provided.
  • Hardware Requirement: Must own a Mac device with an M-series chip (M1, M2, M3, M4, or newer). Note: This is an absolute technical requirement for our secure testing environment.

Responsibilities

As an Norwegian Linguistic Tester, you will:

  • Perform Linguistic QA: Review and refine AI-generated and localized Norwegian content to ensure natural flow and cultural accuracy.
  • Software & UI Testing: Navigate applications to identify layout issues, truncated text, and functional bugs in the Norwegian interface.
  • Bug Reporting: Document and report linguistic and technical errors clearly in English using our testing guidelines.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following technical, linguistic, and professional criteria:

  • Linguistic Proficiency: Native-level fluency in written and spoken Norwegian, paired with professional-level English comprehension and written communication skills.
  • Hardware Specification (Mandatory): Active access to a Mac computer equipped with an Apple Silicon M-series chip (M1, M2, M3, M4, or newer).
  • Cultural Competency: A strong, intuitive grasp of modern Norwegian cultural nuances, localized language trends, and regional idiomatic expressions.
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfort navigating new software interfaces, adhering to detailed testing guidelines, and reporting technical/linguistic bugs clearly in English.
  • Work Environment: A reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated workspace suitable for remote, independent contract work.
  • Attention to Quality: Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to consistently identify minor grammatical, formatting, and user-interface (UI) errors.
  • Professional Experience: No prior experience in linguistic testing or translation is required; however, candidates must be willing and able to complete the mandatory onboarding training.
