Nurse (Clinical/Med-Surg)

About the Position: This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in the Directorate of Surgery Department of General Surgery Service in Honolulu, Hawaii. Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, smoking, smokeless tobacco, and electronic nicotine delivery devices.

Conduct comprehensive assessments, identifying subtle and critical changes in patient conditions, and implementing sophisticated nursing interventions.

Develop and adjust care plans in collaboration with physicians and specialists, ensuring optimal recovery and patient safety.

Manage pediatric conditions, such as newborn hyperbilirubinemia, asthma, and upper respiratory conditions requiring continuous oxygen and airway monitoring.

Administer and support infusion therapy services to patients in need of this service.

Administer and monitor the use of therapeutic agents (medications) and pain-relieving drugs including narcotics and antibiotics, familiar with correct dosages and potential side effects.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for high-risk patients.

Participate in the orientation and training of new staff, ensuring consistency in nursing practice and adherence to organizational standards.

Conduct audits, analyzing data trends, and implementing changes to address identified gaps or deficiencies.
