Nurse (Clinical/Psychiatric)

Perform a comprehensive mental health nursing assessment to identify existing and potential problems and formulate a nursing plan of care.
Teach patient and family regarding the disease process; treatment modalities; possible adverse reactions to medications; health maintenance; and illness prevention.
Administer many psychotropic and complex medications via the oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, topical, rectal, respiratory, intravenous routes.
Develop and present classes related to psychiatric/mental health nursing and participate as an active member in classes that are sponsored by other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Participate in group and milieu therapy as well as individual therapies.
Direct the work of Psychiatric Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered nurses, students and volunteers.
