Nurse Extern - Contingent - ICU

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Schedule: Hours and schedule will vary depending on needs of the department

Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse, performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient using the nursing process. Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. Recognizes and participates in own continuing education.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent OR currently enrolled in the Henry Ford Health Early College Program and meets the completion of two clinical rotations as required at an accredited school of nursing. Enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. The completion of two clinical rotations, one of which must be Med/Surg (in an acute care setting).

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current Health Care Provider Certification Required.
