Nurse Manager

Surfpoint Recovery is looking for a Nurse Manager as we grow and expand. Surfpoint Recovery is a cutting edge substance-use-disorder (SUD) treatment center. We are located in Coney Island, Brooklyn NY. We are an OASAS-licensed and CARF-certified Center of Excellence. Surfpoint Recovery offers inpatient detox, withdrawal, and stabilization services, as well as inpatient rehabilitation services for individuals with substance use disorder. The Nurse Manager is accountable for the 24/7 clinical nursing operations, staffing, and quality of nursing care delivered to patients at Surfpoint Recovery. This role supervises Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Phlebotomists, ensuring the delivery of detox managment & rehabilitative services.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert for nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and clinical expertise. Assume direct patient care responsibilities as needed to support safe and effective nursing operations.
• Conduct daily chart audits, monitor data entry completion (i.e. narcotic count sheet, daily emergency equipment check).
• Train staff on specialized addiction protocols, including Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment (CIWA) and Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) as well as de-escalation and trauma-informed care practices.
• Document all treatment interventions and patient’s response to same in the medical records, & notify abnormalitys
• Responsible for checking all Emergency equipment weekly such as: The Emergency bag, the Asthma Nebulizer, and the Emergency Oxygen Tank, and expeditiously address issues
• Oversee and coordinate weekly inventory assessments and ordering of medications, medical and supplies, equipment, and office supplies to ensure adequate stock levels, operational efficiency, and continuity of patient care, in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Management duties include but are not limited to overseeing nursing staff, new hire orientation and training(s), employee evaluations and competencies, and departmental scheduling.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently NY Registered Nurse State Board of Nursing License and Registration
• Current basic life support for health providers (BLS)
