Nurse (Occupational Health)

About the Position: This position is located within the Family Health Department in Port Hueneme, California. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Initiate standard care that includes performing medical and occupational history, immunization review, eliciting new health conditions and concerns, providing appropriate counseling and follow-up/referral as necessary.

Provide nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and nursing care of occupational injuries/illnesses.

Participate in the quality assurance program of the medical facility, including peer review, and review of medical records for completeness of occupational health data.

Perform work site visits independently or in collaboration with other occupational health professionals.

Provide individual and/or group education and training on specific hazards and substances in compliance with the Federal Hazard Communication Standard.

Initiate appropriate laboratory, x-ray, or screening tests based on history indicating past or present exposures.
