Nurse - Per Diem

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning and evaluating patient care. The incumbent is a member of the multidisciplinary team and provides guidance to front line staff.

Essential Functions:

• Plans and implements individualized nursing care.
• Initiates written nursing care plan individualized to resolve the problems identified in assessment.
• Documentation of nursing interventions, patient response to treatment plans, and identifies teaching needs and patient response to teaching.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients and colleagues.
• Assesses patient needs, prioritizing nursing care activities and assigns patients care according to patient needs and skill level of staff daily.
• Provides trauma informed care to patients
• Models a calm approach to managing crisis
• Supervises staff in proving strength based care, using sensory tools, and recommends rehab consult as needed
• Assesses patients for early signs of escalation and helps them use their safety plan in preventing further escalation.
• Safely administers medication and documents according to procedure.
• Adheres to policy of patient confidentiality, maintains professional boundaries and accepts float assignment as needed.
• Identifies resources to facilitate effective patient care.
