Nurse- Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Program Manager

The Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Program Manager (SPHM PM) is aligned under the Nursing and Patient Care Services Education. The SPHM PM promotes a HRO with safety founded on a systems approach to developing evidence-based healthcare solutions based on a commitment to zero harm by developing strong safety principles through injury prevention supported by engaged leadership.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Functions as an advisor, administrator, educator, consultant, and mentor with a wide range of experience and leadership abilities. Demonstrates creative approaches to function as an advisor, administrator, educator, consultant, and mentor with a wide range of experience and leadership abilities. Promotes a HRO with safety founded on a systems approach to developing evidence-based healthcare solutions based on a commitment to zero harm by developing strong safety principles through injury prevention supported by engaged leadership. Responsible for planning, design, and construction of new construction and renovation projects. Ensures that all Veterans have an equitable opportunity to access SPHM technology. Develops strong safety principles through injury prevention supported by engaged leadership. Collaborates with stakeholders across the healthcare system continuum, including other program and service leaders at the facility and network. Works closely to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of VA staff within the healthcare system. Contributes ideas and recommendations for establishing standards of care, policies, and objectives for enhancing the healthcare system.
