The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for providing direct care to the residents. Such care must be delivered in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern our facility. And as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services designee.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Observe residents and promptly report changes in physical or emotional condition to the LPN/RN supervisor.
• Provide personal care, including toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, catheter care, incontinence care and skin care.
• Assist residents with meals, hydration and nutritional needs.
• Check assigned residents regularly, follow individual care plans and respond promptly to call lights.
• Provide safe transfers, transportation, positioning, repositioning, ambulation and restorative care using appropriate equipment and techniques.
• Assist with prescribed exercises, therapy programs, braces and other restorative nursing needs.
• Perform basic nursing duties such as taking vital signs and collecting specimens as directed.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, legibly and on time.
• Follow infection control, safety, body mechanics and aseptic procedures.
• Maintain resident dignity, privacy, confidentiality and all Resident Bill of Rights protections.
• Prepare residents for appointments, tests, X-rays and therapy as assigned.
• Maintain clean, safe resident areas and equipment; handle linens and clothing according to policy.
• Maintain a positive, respectful and cooperative relationship with residents, families and staff.
• Attend required in-service training and comply with all Christ the King Manor policies, procedures and regulations.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid Nursing Assistance Certification in the state of PA.
• Must maintain a minimum of twelve (12) hours of in-service education is required annually.
• Must be available to work every other weekend.
