Nurture Teacher - Craigentinny Primary School
Description
We are looking for an experienced, caring, trauma-informed teacher to lead our new nurture class for children who need extra support with their social, emotional and behavioural development to thrive at school.
Working closely with support staff, families and other allied agencies, you’ll create a calm, predictable space where pupils build confidence, develop relationships and grow the skills they need to engage fully in life and learning. You’ll plan and deliver learning and teaching in creative, child-centred ways, using assessments such as the Boxall Profile to track progress and support pupils as they eventually move back into their mainstream classes.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds a primary school teaching qualification and is GTCS registered
- Has experience of, or a real interest in, nurture principles and trauma-informed practice
- Builds warm, trusting relationships with children and families
- Is reflective, flexible and works well as part of a team
- Is resilient, optimistic and solution focussed in their outlook
In return, we offer a supportive leadership team, a welcoming school community, and opportunities for professional learning in nurture and wellbeing.
This post is fixed term until June 2027 in the first instance. We will also consider applications on a secondment basis with the pre-approval of their line manager.
