Nutanix Engineer – Infrastructure & Virtualization

Job Description

The Company is seeking an experienced and hands-on Nutanix Engineer to support the full lifecycle of enterprise Nutanix infrastructure, covering both Day 0 (Design & Deployment) and Day 1 (Operations & Support) activities.

The successful candidate will have strong practical experience with Nutanix AOS, AHV, VMware ESXi, virtualization, infrastructure migration, Disaster Recovery, High Availability, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Day 0 – Design & Deployment

• Design, deploy, configure, and implement Nutanix infrastructure based on enterprise requirements.
• Perform Nutanix cluster deployment, configuration, expansion, and integration.
• Configure and administer Nutanix AOS and AHV environments.
• Plan and execute infrastructure migrations, including VMware ESXi to Nutanix AHV.
• Design and implement Disaster Recovery (DR), High Availability (HA), backup, and business continuity solutions.
• Participate in infrastructure architecture, capacity planning, and deployment activities.
• Work with project, infrastructure, network, storage, and security teams during implementation.

Day 1 – Operations & Support

• Manage and administer Nutanix clusters within production environments.
• Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, availability, and performance.
• Perform Nutanix cluster expansion, upgrades, lifecycle management, and optimization.
• Troubleshoot Nutanix AOS, AHV, virtualization, storage, and infrastructure-related issues.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for infrastructure incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Perform performance analysis and tuning to ensure infrastructure stability and efficiency.
• Support VM migration and virtualization administration activities.
• Monitor and maintain DR, HA, and backup environments.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and infrastructure records.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal technical teams to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Follow enterprise change, incident, and problem management processes.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Virtualization, Systems Engineering, or Data Centre environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Nutanix AOS and AHV.
• Proven experience in Nutanix deployment, cluster expansion, administration, lifecycle management, and optimization.
• Strong experience with VMware ESXi and enterprise virtualization environments.
• Hands-on experience with VM migration from VMware ESXi to Nutanix AHV.
• Experience implementing and supporting Disaster Recovery, High Availability, backup, and business continuity solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting, RCA, and performance-tuning capabilities.
• Experience supporting enterprise production infrastructure environments.
• Good communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Certification Requirements

Candidates should possess relevant Nutanix professional certification, such as:

• Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP), and/or
• Nutanix Certified Expert (NCX), or equivalent relevant Nutanix certification.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should be capable of taking ownership of the complete Nutanix infrastructure lifecycle — from designing and building the environment during Day 0 through operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing the production environment during Day 1.
