Nutanix Resident Engineer

On-site Nutanix engineer deploys, migrates, and manages enterprise Nutanix clusters and AHV/Kubernetes environments while automating operations and troubleshooting issues.
Summary
We are looking for an experienced Nutanix Resident Engineer to manage, optimize, and support enterprise Nutanix environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Nutanix infrastructure, virtualization, automation, and customer engagement, helping drive platform adoption while ensuring high availability, performance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, configure, upgrade, and administer Nutanix AOS/AHV environments.
Perform initial cluster deployments, infrastructure transformations, and 3-tier to Nutanix migrations.
Execute cross-hypervisor migrations (VMware ESXi to AHV), including P2V and V2V migrations.
Implement and manage Nutanix Flow micro-segmentation and network security policies.
Deploy and support Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP), including Day-2 operations.
Configure automation and self-service capabilities using Nutanix tools.
Monitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot performance and availability issues, and perform capacity planning.
Manage VM lifecycle activities, disaster recovery planning, patching, and upgrades.
Collaborate with customers, Nutanix Support, and internal teams to resolve complex technical issues.
Deliver technical guidance, conduct proofs of concept (POCs), and enable customer teams through knowledge transfer.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in system administration, virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with Nutanix AOS/AHV, VMware ESXi, and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
Experience with initial cluster deployment, workload migration, Nutanix Flow, NKP deployment & Day-2 operations, and automation/self-service.
Strong troubleshooting, customer-facing, presentation, and documentation skills.
Experience with disaster recovery, storage, and data protection technologies is preferred.
Nutanix NCP and/or VMware VCP/VCAP certifications are a plus.
Knowledge of Python, PowerShell, or infrastructure automation is an advantage.
